Lego "My First Collection" Review

One of the all time classic toys that will always be around is: LEGO’s. I had Lego’s when I was little and now my boys have LEGO’s. There is just something about them that I don’t think will ever get old. LEGO was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen and was passed down to his son since. “LEGO” is actually an abbreviation of two Danish words “leg godt”, meaning, “Play well.” I think that name fits perfect! In the past 70 years, LEGO has also come along way from a carpenter’s workshop to a modern, global enterprise that is now actually the world’s sixth-largest manufacturer of toys. They are also sold in more than 130 countries and played with by children of all nationalities.

When I got the chance to check out two of their My First Collection sets, I was super excited! Best of all they are super reasonably priced. Here are the 2 sets I received from LEGO:

My First LEGO Castle Set

Now even though my son is only 2 years old, I was curious to see how he did with them, under my supervision of course. He loved them! I think they were actually easier for him to connect them together since they fit comfortably in his little hands. I am sure when he is 4 years old he will love them even more, but I am glad I was able to give him his first LEGO experience now.
Both sets come with a generous amount of pieces and at only $10, how can you go wrong! Aidan loves Pirates and Castles so these two were actually perfect sets for him. He loved connecting the LEGO pieces and then moving the minifigure around, and then of course my husband was super excited to help him out with these! It was so nice to see a toy that Aidan could play with his father and I hope that Lego toys can keep that bond tight for them.

With these sets being part of the “My First Collection” they are ideal for young and inexperienced builders. I mean 150 pieces is not too many nor too little pieces and are perfect starter sets. Normally I always thought of LEGOs as expensive and complicated, but these new sets are perfect to get your kids started.
