Did you know that Tungsten carbide is the strongest metal currently used for jewelry? I honestly have only ever heard of gold, white gold, silver, or platinum. I just read that tungsten carbide rings can be polished to shine, brushed to a soft finish, or even engraved with simple grooves.
Actually, tungsten rings in general are resistant to scratching and tarnishing so they will last for years. I like the prices of the rings too as they are under $100 and they even have black rings, which I know, can be hard to find.
Other than tungsten rings there are also titanium rings available. Now titanium is a metal chosen for its lightness, but it is also super durable and nearly impossible to scratch. Titanium that is polished can resemble the shine of silver and it works for a number of different jewelry designs. Titanium is also popular for wedding bands as it will last for years without flaw. The prices for these rings I found were way under $100 also. I really wish I could have talked my husband into something other than platinum because we paid a pretty penny for his ring and honestly it looks like a plan ring. We could have bought a whole bunch of tungsten or titanium rings for a fraction of the price. I must admit though my husband never takes his wedding band off and because of that I don’t feel so bad that we spent more than we should on it.
If you are more into bracelets, there are also tungsten carbide bracelets to check out. These bracelets are heavy-duty and still combine the toughness of tungsten with the therapeutic qualities of magnetic hematite. They also come in a variety of widths and will never scratch or tarnish. I think that is awesome because I can’t tell you how much I hate cleaning jewelry!
