So this October will be six years of marriage for my husband and I and I can’t help but think about our wedding and engagement. We also have three weddings in the next two months that are making me reminisce.
For our wedding, I planned everything except our honeymoon and our wedding rings. My husband used to work for a jeweler so he knew diamonds and actually picked out the perfect ring for me. I am not a big jewelry person so I didn’t really have any input other than I wanted “big” and “shiny.” I actually would have picked out a cheaper ring for my husband, maybe one of the black tungsten rings for men or a more traditional men’s tungsten wedding bands, but he wanted a more expensive platinum band. I figured with what he spent on my ring, he deserves a nice band too. Looking at tungsten wedding bands was out of the question for him because he had his mind set on platinum. Yeah I got the husband who actually cared about what his wedding band looked like. Its funny though because my husband’s cousin just got married and he got a tungsten band and I can’t tell the difference between his and my husband’s platinum, again it could be that I know nothing about jewelry.
So anyways I think wedding bands has been on my mind mostly because I haven’t been able to wear mine in over three years due to being pregnant and my hands apparently not shrinking back down to size. I keep telling myself to start working out and loose my excess baby weight, but then I got pregnant again and have to start the weight loss cycle again now! Maybe I should just go get it resized and give up exercising!
