When I was pregnant I was totally clueless. I mean I have six brothers and sisters that are all younger than me, but none of our friends had kids so I had no good advice from anyone. I knew the basics of course of taking care of a baby but the whole pregnancy was all new to me. I remember reading book after book and scouring online forums on advice and posting questions. Like I had no clue you shouldn’t eat deli meat when you were pregnant. Or that your water doesn’t always break for you to be in labor.
When our first child came I learned quickly how to work with one hand around the house. I could change a diaper, cook a meal, do laundry, and just clean up all while holding my baby boy. Once Aidan got bigger changing him while squirming was a new challenge for me. I worried that he’d squirm right off the changing table or his diaper contents would get all over! Quickly I learned to hold his tummy with one hand and work fast!
Walmart has come out with a new website called Baby Steps. It features videos and product suggestions for all your baby’s needs. Like if you go to Changing a Diaper and filter in your baby’s age and weight, it will pull up diaper changing solutions and then Huggies recommended products. Baby Steps is a great resource whether you are a new mom or just need a refresher!
