Ringling Bros® and Barnum & Bailey Presents Fully Charged
Allstate Arena: Nov. 3 – 13, 2011
United Center: Nov. 16 – 27, 2011
First of all, I may be bias, but I love the circus! Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey just know how to put on a good show and I have yet to be disappointed. I love too how the circus is all about traditions, so yes there is always lions, elephants, trapeze walking, stilts, clowns, juggling and people flying with ropes! As much as you would think it gets old or that you’ve seen it before, it still seems magical to me.
Fully Charged is a show featuring a “supercharged spectacle of mega proportions to get your family Fully Charged!” The show features so much, I couldn’t even describe it all to you if I wanted! It is non-stop action with something going on somewhere at all times. That is another great thing about this show, there is no downtime (expect for Intermission.) Yes there may be workers taking down or setting up the next attraction but there are performers somewhere else keeping you entertained! This is a must for kids since they seem to get antsy during downtime and need constant entertainment!
There were a total of 8 elephants that I counted (or 100,000 pounds of fun), lions, horses, and zebras. There were amazing jugglers who juggled so many different objects, it was crazy. I think my favorite part though was these glow-in-the dark performance where these performers jumped on these bouncy shoes! It was very cool looking! The lion part is always neat how the trainer gets them to do tricks in the cage with him, I admit I fear for his life! The elephants are awesome how they are able to be so flexible and the dancers in the air on the ropes make it look so easy! There was also quite a lot of acrobatics in this show which was cool to watch!
The main attraction of this show though is a guy who lights himself on fire and flies across the arena from a crossbow! I read too that its his actual wife that helps him. That was a very cool stunt to watch and crazy that he lit himself on fire! Fire in general seemed to be the feature of show as there was also jugglers and other performers who dealt with fire throughout the show.
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey is definitely a tradition for my family and its sillyness and creative performances always make me smile. It makes me smile too to see my boys now watching the show in amazement – their eyes never so big! It is one night for us that we as adults can be kids again and I dare you to go to the circus and not laugh and smile!
