So the other day I had a few friends over and their kids, and we a “Rock ‘N Learn” Party sponsored by LeapFrog! Their new Touch Magic line brings intuitive touch technology to preschool toys for the first time! I think they are perfect for today’s kids who are used to touch products like the iPad and iPod’s. I had two products to show off and they were a hit with my guests.
The Rockin’ Guitar brings musical fun and helps to develop preschool skills with every little touch. The Learning Bus takes children on a musical journey filled with educational discovery and games. With a summer touch, preschoolers can use the six piano keys and two drum pads to play along with songs that include Wheels on the Bus, ABC Song, and an original, Rockin’ School Bus. The interactive flat surface with vibrant graphics encourages exploration and featres more than 200 learning and musical responses and over 40 touch points – including letters, piano keys, and more – that all kids to enjoy music and learning fun with every touch. Ages 2 and up. Suggested retail $24.99
I had kids over from ages 1 to 6 and they all had a blast. Its funny how a toy developed for younger kids appeals to kids of all ages! LeapFrog products are a brand though that really know what they are doing and we have yet to find one we don’t like! I think out of both products the LeapFrog Rockin’ Guitar appealed to my 4 and 5 year old the most, they have played with it pretty much every day since we got it. There is an original song on there called “Rainbow” that my 5 year old sings on repeat! The Learning Bus has been a hit with my 1 year old who has to touch everything and laughs when she pushes something that makes a noise. I will say it was a little adjustment for my kids and I to have no buttons to push but you get used to it. My sons didn’t realize at first the guitar made noise as with no buttons they thought it was just for show, but after showing them they figured it out. Both product feature both original and classic songs that are nice to sing along to, or my boys just jam with their own music!
Even older kids couldn’t keep their hands off the guitar:
Overall, these new LeapFrog products were a hit with the kids and they have been rockin’ ever since. I have no doubt that these products will end up under some of our friends Christmas trees.
