A few years ago I got the chance to try out a new product called HEXBUGs and ever since my kids have been hooked. They played with them pretty much everyday until Olivia started crawling. Then we had to put them away because Olivia of course would put them in her mouth. Then at BlogHer I saw these new HEXBUGs called Warriors that are not only bigger but they battle each other!
HEXBUG Warriors are battling robot bugs that come with snap-on weapons and armor to customize them and the weapons even move! To know which bug has damage there is a Shock Sensor Inside. Health is decreased with each strong hit until the robot deactives, a colored LED light is displayed on the top to show how the bugs are doing. You can buy the sets in single packs of bugs, with a Battle Arena, or a Battle Stadium. My boys had an absolute blast with these!
I received the HEXBUG Warriors Battle Arena which comes with two Battling Robots and a small Battle Arena. It is a perfect set to play with. I actually was surprised at the Battle Arena platform as I thought there was just the two bugs in the package. If you want you can expand your Arena with more pieces or just keep this bridge! Honestly I like these HEXBUGs better than the original ones because of the size and the LED lights. The pieces of the Arena also snap together easier than the original HEXBUG tracks. I think it gives them an extra touch that adds to the fun! I admit I like the little weapons too, they are super cute. Now yes they do have weapons which I know some parents may not like but you can remove them and just have them battle each other by bumping into each other. If this turn out to be as hot as the original HEXBUGs (and I think they will be) then I’d stock up now on them as they will make a great gift or stocking stuffer!
