Don’t get me wrong, I love Summertime with my kids but I do hate the “I’m bored” sayings. I wish I could afford to take them to fun places everyday but such is not the case and I have to be creative with fun activities for them. Luckily Michaels has a great program where moms can not only take their kids there for two hour craft sessions but it only costs $2 per child! Passport to Imagination is a seven-week program that invites kids to explore culture through crafting. This year they have teamed up with seven of North America’s top museums to create craft projects inspired by museums and its exhibits. The sessions take place from June 16th through August 2 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon.
I have two boys and yes the crafts are geared towards both girls and boys. They are actually pretty cool, I wish I was between 5 and 12 years old! I will say too that if you are planning on attending book your spots as soon as you can. Our local store filled up and I had to go on the waiting list for the two days I would have been able to attend. I am excited though to go next week with my kids and see what my boys think of it. They won’t admit it but they love crafts and projects and I love that they are being creative instead of just staring at a tablet or video game screen.
