It’s funny how my kids are relatively healthy all summer and then once school starts they each take their turns getting sick. This year we made it a whole month before my kids got sick, but when they did it was one after another. The crazy weather we have been having in Chicago is not helping either.
Cold medicine has been flowing in my household and I was thinking the other day how it seems like cold medicine for kids comes in two colors: pink or purple. Cherry or grape are the flavors normally found, but what do you do if you have a child who doesn’t like those flavors?
Well now there is the first-ever chocolate flavored, over-the-counter liquid cough and cold medicine line for kids ages 4 to 13, thanks to Dr. Cocoa for Children. A great chocolate taste made with real cocoa, combined with trusted effective ingreidnat, means kids are going to be happy to take medicine when they need to. No more fighting with your kids to take Cherry flavored syrup if they are chocolate fans. I have often said “Why don’t they make medicine kids will actually take?”
According to a survey conducted by the new national Harris survey of U.S. parents of school-aged children (ages 4-13), almost 40% of parents said it isn’t easy to give their kids over-the-counter liquid cough/cold/medicines. I know for my kids they have left some of the medicine in the cup before because they just didn’t like the flavor and wouldn’t finish it.

Now of course you have to stress to your children that it is medicine still and they can only take whatever you or another adult gives them. We have tried Dr. Cocoa, well my 6 year old has and he enjoyed the taste. I am sure there are quite a few kids who would gladly take their medicine if it was chocolate flavored. I love that this new flavor was introduced and I hope it makes medicine time a little easier for parents, it has helped in our household.
Now through October 17th, 2014, Dr. Cocoa is hosting the “We’re “Owl” Smiles for Relief Giveaway!” Ten entries are selected weekly randomly to receive one (1) Dr. Cocoa owl puppet each Friday!
