    Nickelodeon’s hit preschool literacy series Wallykazam! makes its DVD debut on April 28, 2015.  The series follows the adventures of Wally and his pet dragon, Norville, who live in a forest among giants, goblins and other fantastical creatures. Wally has a magic stick that makes words come to life on the screen playfully transforming the world around him. Wallykazam! is Nickelodeon’s first preschool series that embeds a literacy curriculum into a full-length story, introducing skills such as letter and sound identification, rhyming, vocabulary development and comprehension strategies.  Each of the four adventures features a new set of words and the DVD contains a free gift with purchase of customizable Wallykazam! name labels while supplies last.

    Wallykazam! includes the following episodes:

    • Naptime for Borgelorp – Wally uses magic words to help tire out Ogre Doug’s hyper and unpredictable pet Borgelorp.
    • Castle Caper – Wally must oust Bobgoblin from a castle intended for his pet dragon, Norville.
    • Victor the Villain – While pretending to be superheroes, Wally and Norville decide they need a real villain to match wits with and conjure up, Victor the Villain.
    • The Switching Stone – Wally, Norville and Gina Giant find a magical “switching stone” that’s a lot of fun until it turns Bobgoblin into a giant.

    We have actually never seen Wallykazam live on Nickelodeon. We have seen commercials but never actually caught it live so my kids were excited to watch this DVD. It features four episodes featuring Wally and his friends. It is a cute wholesome show with cute lessons such as friendship, working together and problem solving. It is great because my kids can watch it anytime we want since we now have it on DVDs. I love that it is something new as well!

      Yes, my kids love the show. They watch it on Nick Jr. all the time.

      My little grandson always wants me to watch Wally Kazam with him. He’s a huge fan!

      My kid loves Wally! She could read so well when she started kindergarten. She scored a 94/102 on her reading assessment. The teacher said that was the highest she had ever seen on a first assessment.

      I don’t think my grandson has seen this program. Although, I’m not absolutely sure. He loves cartoons though so, I’m sure he’d love it. 🙂

      My children have watched Wallykazam, and we love it! It has really helped my daughter improve her reading.

      No they haven’t but I can tell by the characters they would love it!

      We have never heard of Wallykazam in our household. We also do not have cable so that could be the reason why.

      My granddaughter has watched this show a couple of times. The reason I am trying to win it for her though, is that she is moving to Alaska in the next couple of months 🙁 and she will definitely need something to fill her time in the car!!! My daughter has a DVD player in the car, so this would help!

      I usually have my children watch Wild Kratts, but i’ll be sure to check WallyKazam out.
      I’m just afraid they will be scared of the Wally and all of the other characters!
