I have received promotional consideration from MinuteClinic. All opinions are my own.
As far as doctors go I do not mind them at all but what I do mind is the dreaded waiting room. I know I am not alone either as who really does enjoy sitting and waiting. I am sure many people put off going to the doctor because they don’t want to sit and wait or they just don’t have the time.
My husband for example has a crazy work schedule with unpredictable meetings that pop up. Whenever I do make a doctor appointment for him he ends up having to reschedule it and so forth.
Well the CVS MinuteClinic® was the perfect solution to his schedule. The other day he had a few hours open up in his schedule and I jumped at the chance to get him to get a checkup. He was due for a comprehensive exam and yes the CVS MinuteClinic® can do that!
To make it even easier for consumers, CVS MinuteClinic® has launched the feature to “Hold a Place in Line.” Consumers can log in at CVS.com or via the CVS app on their phone.
Steps for the new CVS Digital Tool:
Use the clinic locator to select the clinic you’d like to visit. View the approximate wait times at the nearby clinics to make the choice that works for you.
Use the Hold My Place in Line button to begin the online pre-registration.
After your fill in your details for the pre-registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email or text message with your unique pre-registration code.
Head to the clinic a few minutes before your time to be seen and sign into the kiosk using the unique pre-registration code received.
Once signed in at kiosk, you’ll be added to line to be seen.
I will say I have done it both ways, registering via the app for CVS MinuteClinic® and at the kiosk in-store and while it is pretty easy information to fill out it, obviously it’s quicker to do ahead of time. My husband was able to pre-register at home during breakfast and then complete some of his work tasks while working from home.
Here is his “waiting room”:
He was able to work until a few minutes before his appointment and then over down the street to our local CVS MinuteClinic®. Once he arrived at the store, he checked-in at the kiosk and only waited a few minutes before he was ushered in the office. He was lucky that the practitioner wasn’t seeing other patients at the time but regardless he was added to the current list in line. Its kinda like calling ahead at a restaurant to put your name down!
Here are some screenshots from the app when I was booking his appointment:
My husband’s comprehensive health screening exam checked him for chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. It surprisingly covered the basics and gave him a starting point going forward. The appointment took about 20 minutes and he felt good about it.
The CVS MinuteClinic® covers all sorts of illnesses, injuries, conditions and screenings. I actually recently saw a practitioner at the CVS MinuteClinic® for strep throat recently and they were able to get me in right away, compared to my doctor’s office who was booked until late afternoon. The CVS MinuteClinic® even takes most insurance cards as well so you not only get that discount but you get efficient service. The practitioners I have always dealt with at my location have always been super friendly and helpful.
So next time you need to get in and out for a checkup or other medical issue, why not check to see if you can get it at your local CVS MinuteClinic® for it?
