People usually love or hate weddings. I personally think it depends on who is getting married. I mean if its a co-worker or distant relative then I might dread it but if its a close family member or friend then I might be more excited to go.
Here are 5 reasons to love weddings:
- The fashion
Weddings present an opportunity for everyone, from the bridal party to the guests to pull out the best looking outfits they possess so that they can look glamorous at the wedding. You may have beautiful outfits that you would love to wear, but restrictions at the workplace or even in the church can deny you the opportunity to flaunt them. Then comes the wedding, where you’ll pull out all the stops and wear the fanciest of clothes that you have in your closet, with no fear of criticism; if it is decent, of course. This is what makes weddings beautiful since they are filled with people wearing all manners of designs and colors.
- The atmosphere
A wedding is one of the, if not the absolute, happiest day of anyone, from the couple to the guests. At the start of the day, the bride and groom may get a bout of nervousness in readiness of the big day, but once the ceremony has commenced the atmosphere changes instantly into one of excitement and bliss. Weddings take a lot of time and effort to plan, and therefore seeing them turn into success brings about an atmosphere of happiness and excitement, that can be felt by everyone present.
- The reception
One of the most amazing parts of any wedding besides the exchange of the vows is the reception. This is where the new husband and wife and their families and friends gather to celebrate the union. It is essentially what makes a wedding fun. Food and drinks flow freely according to the couple’s desire and after that follows the songs and dances. It is the most fulfilling part of any wedding, which is sealed by cutting of the cake, which is very necessary at a wedding.
- Catching up
Everyone has a busy life, living in different cities and countries, and therefore meeting up with friends and family can be a daunting task. The only way we get to talk is through social media, which is a great way to find people you haven’t spoken to for years, but it cannot be a substitute to face to face communication. A wedding, however, makes this easy since a majority of the invited guests are usually family members or mutual friends bridging the gap between you and them. It presents an opportunity to catch up with old friends, and even make new ones as you socialize with the other guests. It is no surprise that some couples confess to having met each other during a mutual friend’s wedding.
- Reminiscing and reflecting
Weddings present a forum for everyone to reminisce, and think about what the good old days they had or even look forward and desire such a ceremony for themselves. Old married couples at weddings can remember the bliss they had at their own wedding, helping them reconnect and rekindle their love and romance, while young couples can look forward to solidifying their union as well. The newlyweds also look back at where they started from and appreciate how far they have come together, and additionally look forward into a bright future together.
