I received complimentary tickets in exchange for sharing this information and my honest opinion.
With all the craziness of the Coronavirus going on, I thought I would share one of my must-visit attractions near Chicago – Medieval Times. We have been to Medieval Times a bunch and everytime we go, my kids act like its their first. We recently attended right before the quarantine here and I am glad we got to go there as a family before we were locked up inside. So while you are cooped up inside, start making your list of must-visit places once you can go out!
Why do we love Medieval Times?
First off, you get dinner and show all-in-one. Cooking and cleaning up for five people gets old here in my house so any chance I get a break from cooking I am all about. I will say too even my picky eaters eat here! My 8-year-old daughter who loves her breaded chicken nuggets went to town on her chicken leg! You always get corn, tomato soup (sorry, Dragon Blood), garlic bread, potato and dessert – so there is a good variety of food to choose from. Also, just to add my youngest son has food allergies (nut, egg, shellfish) and he eats there safely! The waitress (or wench as she called herself) was able to identify what was safe and what wasn’t – only the dessert and bread was not safe for him.
How can my kids enjoy this show after already seeing it? Well each show is different as in you never know who is going to win. Sure the show line-up is the same but the fighting and competitions are exciting to see who will win.
I honestly love how my family comes together to cheer for our knight. We all get into it and get excited.
Something about being in the arena and watching the knights and eating without utensils (yes they did not have utensils back then so you don’t get them) makes me feel like we are sitting back in Medieval Times!
The horses are amazing. I am not an animal person but I can’t help but appreciate the beauty and tricks that these horses can do.
A girl falconer! This time we got to see a girl falconer manage the flying falcon and it was pretty amazing. I am sure it is different each time but it was cool to see a girl doing it since we have only seen men do it.
