It’s not always easy thinking of things to do together when you’re a family on a budget. However, there are things you can do if you think outside of the box a little bit. Here, we have a handful of family fun ideas just about any family can enjoy. Take a look and see what you can do:
- Have A Reading Marathon
How about planning a reading marathon? You could head to the library, grab some books, and make a day of it. There are usually activities in the library, too, so make sure you check this out before you leave. Once you have your books, make your space as comfortable as possible with blankets, snacks, hot chocolate, and anything else that will set the tone. You might get so lost in reading that you finish a whole book!
- Do Some Crafts Together
Doing family crafts together is always a lot of fun. There’s no end to the things you can make, and there are many tutorials online that could help you. You could paint a picture as a family, make a tipi for the garden, or make something totally unexpected.
- Have A Film Night
A film night can be great when you’ve been busy all week and you just want to chill out. You can find lots of films and places to watch them from this torrents site list from Troypoint. You should be able to make a list of films to watch and work your way through them, you’ll find all sorts.
- Go To A Free Museum
Many museums are free on certain days, and this is nearly always true for kids. Make sure you double check and see – you might all learn something if you plan to do this.
- Do Some Gardening
Gardening together is brilliant for a plethora of reasons. Not only is it a great way to exercise and stay active, everybody also gets a healthy dose of vitamin D and sunlight. It’s one of the healthiest hobbies to have, plus it’s so satisfying as you can grow tall sunflowers, herbs, and veg. The kids will love seeing what their efforts have created.
- Make A Scrapbook
Make a family scrapbook filled with your favorite memories and things you don’t want to forget. You can include pictures, captions, leaves, pressed flowers, paintings, poems, and more. Scrapbooks are great when they don’t look too tidy, so don’t worry about that.
- Customise Some Clothes
Grab some clothes you no longer wear and see if you can customise them. You could create some amazing handpainted tshirts to show off, or even patchwork jeans.
- Volunteer To Help Out
Teach your kids the value of giving their time for a good cause and volunteer somewhere to help out. Maybe you could help out at a dog shelter or homeless shelter, for example. You could do this one weekend a month and allow your kids to pick somewhere to help out each time.
