I received discounted tickets in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
Here in Chicago, my family has enjoyed the Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament show many times and it is amazing enjoying a meal and a show under one roof. When we travel I try to look for similar experiences because it is a great way to wrap up a day. My kids also think it is awesome to eat and watch a show.
Well last month when we visited Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, I was thrilled to see that they had a bunch of dinner shows to enjoy. We only had one night to experience one and after lots of research, I found that the best one to visit was the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud. I was actually most excited about this because I remember learning about the history of the families.
So what is the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud?
The Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud is a dinner show showing the two families singing and feuding. We experienced the Christmas Disaster show and it is definitely a must-do if you can attend during Christmas time, but I’m sure the show is amazing year-round.
You get an all-you-can-eat feast and seriously they are not messing around with food. Other dinner shows we have been to skimp on the food but this place is like a southern mama who wants to make sure you eat enough!
- Feudin’ Fried Chick’n
- Open Pit Pulled-to-Pieces Pork Barbeque
- Southern Style Creamy Soup
- Smashed Mashed Taters
- Buttery Corn on the Cob
- Ma’s Hot Homemade Bread
- No Tellin’ What’s In It Coleslaw
- Granny’s Famous Specialty Dessert
- Unlimited Pepsi®, tea or coffee
Even my picky kids asked for seconds and thirds of the items. Everything was amazing, I actually miss it now thinking about it.
The show itself I admit is cheesy but I was expecting it to be. The singing is silly and there are stunts which I found the water ones especially entertaining. Yes I said water on the stage as in a pool!
The show itself involves live animals, dramatic lighting, sound and pyrotechnics. The cast was amazing and really made the audience believe they were the feuding families. It was actually more than I was expecting as far as the show goes. There was non-stop action and singing during the whole performance.
The way the show works is first you are assigned a family side and are seated. There were 5 of us and we had a great table together, really there are no bad seats.
The servers start bringing out all the food and everything starts flowing. I even have a child will food allergies and the server was great checking everything and confirming what was and wasn’t safe. He was able to eat pretty much everything without substitutions.
Was the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud show worth it?
Definitely worth every penny we paid so my whole family could enjoy a great meal and show. Food allergies are so hard when eating out and I loved that the show was so accommodating. Everything was great and such a fun atmosphere, especially with all the Christmas decorations.
