This book shows readers that we all have the same family matters and what really matters is families. It is a quirky and fun holiday book, and a great bridal shower or wedding gift!
MY THOUGHTS:
Everyone has that crazy aunt, uncle, brother or at least an experience with an odd family member. I have many memories from Christmas parties, so many that we don’t even have parties anymore due to the craziness! This Chicken Soup book “Family Matters” is all about the craziness in our families! I can relate to many of the stories, others made me laugh so hard I almost peed, others made me feel like maybe my family isn’t that crazy! It is full of 101 great stories that are sure to cheer you up, make you smile, and make you feel like you are not alone! “Family Matters” is so far my favorite Chicken Soup for the Soul book. I also think it would be a great gift for anyone anytime! There is nothing religious or sad either, all the stories are funny and amusing! The introduction is also written by Bruce Jenner of the Kardashian family!

I remember one Christmas at my grandmother’s. She had this huge table with all the food on it. It was a “foldable” table that had an extra piece in the middle. Right when we was sitting down to eat, the table fell and so did our food!

My aunt is great. She will go up and start talking to anyone, it doesn’t matter who. While I am sitting there cringing over some of the things she says, other people seem to take it in stride and just laugh it off. I love her dearly, but she is a little nuts sometimes.

When I was a teenager I got these new pair of pants that I just loved and I really wanted to wear them to school that day for class pictures. When I went to put them on they were too small and didn’t fit. I couldn’t believe it I just got them when I took a closser look I could see that they had been taken in. Come to find out my little sister wanted to were them the day before and sewed them up to fit her. Sisters you got to love them.

My aunt plays in a softball league and at one game the other team didn’t show up but they didnt have enough players to get the win. My aunt game over to my mom and started calling her “marie” the name of one player on the team. My mom had to pretend to be marie so my aunt’s team would get the win. They continue to talk about it to this day. Thanks!

I come from a very big family and we have a reunion every summer with first, second, and third cousins and anyone in between. We have started having a theme reunion and last year the theme was Nerds and it was crazy the way everyone dressed. When we went back and looked at the pictures someone asked-How do you tell who dressed up and who always dresses that way?!

Being X-mas I’m remembering an uncle who went all out to make our X-mas stockings delightful. We lived near a convenience store and in out stocking were special cards that allowed us to get free popsicles with just a punch. We thought it was the neatest thing.

When my hubby’s great aunt was in her sixties she went to see Liberace in concert. She jumped up on the stage, pushed the security guards aside and sat at the piano with him. He was amused and let her stay there for the remainder of the show.
