Even though I am not quite 30 yet, I just recently got diagnoses with high blood pressure. The doctor asked me if I was stressed, but of course with the holidays who isn’t. The next question the doctor asked me is about my salt intake. Now I don’t really add salt to any of my meals, but I also don’t watch my salt intake either.
So to help me keep my meals flavorful without extra sodium, I have fell in love with Mrs. Dash seasonings. I had no clue that Mrs. Dash Seasonings included 14 flavors, and I am slowly working my way through them. I found that they not only give me the extra salt-like taste but with all the flavors available I can change up my meals. My husband loves the flavors and doesn’t miss salt at all, and my boys haven’t even noticed a difference, which is great because they don’t need the extra sodium either. Any way I can cut sodium out of our diets without losing flavor, I am all about trying. I am amazed too how easy it is to slip in Mrs. Dash into my favorite recipes without noticing a difference.
I did not add Mrs. Dash to any of our holiday recipes because I wasn’t cooking any of the meals, but I have added them into my regular dinners.
Here is a great recipe to try out with the Caribbean Citrus Seasoning:
Ingredients:
- Frozen Tilapia (I used individually wrapped Tilapia from my grocer’s freezer section)
- Butter
- Bread Crumbs
- Your favorite Mrs. Dash Seasoning – I used Caribbean Citrus this time
Mix butter, breadcrumbs, and Mrs. Dash in bowl and then spread on Tilapia. Cook according to Tilapia directions.
