MY THOUGHTS

I had never heard of the Tassimp Home Brewing System until just recently when I was asked if I wanted to check it out.  Now my husband does have a single cup brewer (as well as a regular coffee maker) at home but what sets the Tassimo apart from the rest is that it can make so many more great beverages.  Other than coffee it can also make tea,  hot chocolate, espressos, cappuccinos, lattes and more!  I always thought to make a cappuccino at home you had to buy a fancy (and expensive) machine, but now we can make it at home for a fraction of the cost!  Now I am not a big coffee drinker, but my husband is so we love that he can make his cup and then I can make my cup.  I prefer tea, lattes and hot chocolate!  The best part is though is that there is no clean up in between drinks, just take out the used T Disc and put in a new one.  The back of the Tassimo holds 1.5 liters so you are not constantly filling it with water.

So the Tassimo brewer is quite simple – Fill the water tank, place in your selected T Disc, it scans the barcode to brew it properly, place your cup down, and push start!  It really is so simple that my sons (2 and 3) love to help out!  This system is great for us because my husband only has one cup of coffee before he leaves for work and we no longer are throwing away a whole pot of coffee.  If you drink a whole lot of coffee at home or have multiple people that do, then this might not be the most economical way of making coffee, but at least everyone can choose their own flavor and variety.  The only waste is the used T Discs.

I am still fascinated though with making a cappuccino.  It is actually a two-step process – first you use an Espresso T Disc then you use a milk T Disc to create the frothy top.  It is yummy and definitely not something I ever thought I could make at home.  I am though especially curious to try out their Gevalia Sweet & Creamy Iced Coffee drinks because I have never been able to make a good iced coffee at home and don’t have the $3 to go buy one every morning!

As far as size goes the Tassimo T20 Brewing System is relatively small and short, so it doesn’t take up a lot of counter space.  It is made by Bosch so you know you can trust the quality and durability and you can even personalize your brewer withing seconds with a new color accessory kit (not included.)  I received the white brewer with a chocolate colored insert so it can match my kitchen.  Other colors include – red, yellow and blue – or you can keep it all white.  Not a white fan, there are other Tassimo Home Brewing Systems to check out, some with more features and abilities.

A final feature that sets the Tassimo apart is the brands that created T Discs for them.  For example, if you are a big Starbucks fan you can now buy Starbucks T Discs, same goes with Gevalia, Maxwell House and more.  The brands that work with Tassimo don’t necessarily work with other brewing companies so that is something to consider if you are a fan of a particular brand is to make sure you can get it with the Tassimo or at least a comparable substitute.
