So since yesterday I wrote about marriage counseling, I think it is only fit that today I write about engagements! I just started thinking about how two of our friends just got engaged and the cycle is starting again. After our wedding, we had tons of weddings to attend then not much for the last two years. Now this year we have two weddings and still quite a few friends and relatives not married yet.
Whenever someone gets engaged or married, I get nostalgic of my own wedding. It especially makes me sad because my engagement ring and wedding ring haven’t comfortably fit my finger since I had kids. I have been meaning to get it resized but then I also keep meaning to get more in shape so it fits me again! One day I tell myself. My husband has actually never taken his ring off, yeah he’s a keeper!
It is a funny story too of how my husband proposed to me with a beautiful Solitaire Diamond Ring. I actually was coming home early from driving school (yes I was speeding) and going to surprise him by getting home early. I started to walk in the front door and my husband came and slammed the door in my face. I assumed it was because he made a mess and wanted to clean up before I saw it. A proposal was not even remotely in my mind. Then I walked in and he had candles lit, handed me a handwritten note of words he didn’t know how to say and as I was reading it he got down and proposed. I started crying, put it on and we immediately got on the phone to call people to tell them the good news! I then realized I never really said “yes” not that it mattered at that point! I was so excited and already planning the wedding in my head that I didn’t sleep at all that night! It was a great feeling and moment, one that I am glad I have a great memory of.

Awww! That’s such a beautiful and romantic proposal {except for the whole door-in-face thing LOL}.

I “read” my proposal too…as my now husband got down on his knee. Funny!

A MUCH better proposal than mine! I was nagging him as we were driving somewhere so he reached in his coat pocket, pulled out the box and threw it at me saying, “Are you happy now?!” Romantic 🙂
