    Entertainment Weekly coined Wishbone as “One of our Favorite Series on DVD featuring Talking Animals!”  This TV series, which aired on PBS, features a live-action Jack Russell Terrier who imagines himself as the hero of famous classic novels and invites his audience to come along. The tale-wagging pup has picked up 11 awards, including four Emmys and a Peabody. He appeared in People Magazine and on “The Tonight Show.” He’s even been part of a “Jeopardy!” category. In short — so to speak — this sartorial storyteller has become a popular icon. And it all started because of a little dog with a big imagination.

    Let your imagination run wild with everyone’s favorite dog Wishbone! The adventurous little terrier takes four action-packed journeys in these beloved classic tales. Join the Merry Men and follow Robin Hood in the Paw Prints of Thieves as he takes from the rich to give to the poor.  In Hot Diggety Dawg and The Impawssible Dream, band together with Don Quixote and Jules Verne’s Professor Liedenbrock to battle giants and monsters. In Hunchdog of Notre Dame, escape danger as Wishbone rescues maidens and defeats his evil master. This clever pup with a nose for adventure will delight and inspire the whole family.

    MY THOUGHTS:

    I had never heard of Wishbone before seeing this DVD but he is definitely cute!  Wishbone is a dog who talks and goes on all sorts of adventures.  This DVD includes four Wishbone episodes that deal with the classic stories of Don Quixote, Robin Hood, Journey to the Center of the Earth and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.  It is cute to see Wishbone dressed up and hear his voice.  He is quite the adventurous dog!  This is a cute DVD for the whole family to watch as it is not animated but rather a regular show.  My sons are 2 and 4 years old and weren’t too interested in the Wishbone episodes but I can see them liking it in a few years when they are out of their “everything has to be animated” phase.

      We love Wishbone! When my daughter (now 14) was younger, my husband and I loved sitting down and watching it on PBS with her. My younger son has only seen it a couple of times but loves it also. Would be thrilled to win this!

      My kids have never seen Wishbone on tv, but their grandma has a Wishbone stuffed animal that they play with when they go to her house. She also just gave my 5 year old several Wishbone bookmarks last week. He loves them! He would really get excited about seeing this DVD!

      We’ve watched Wishbone before, but we do not get the PBS station anymore. Always thought it was a well made show, and love the main actor. 🙂

      My 2 children have never watched Wishbone, but I used to watch it all the time. I was not exactly a child at the time, but it is a great show! I was sad when they didn’t make any more of them.
