My 4-year old is a picky eater, but one thing he does love is bacon! He could eat it all day long if I let him. One thing I hate cooking is you guessed it…bacon. I hate the grease, cleaning the pan and stovetop, and just standing there watching it sizzle. I know bacon is not the healthiest but since it is one of the few things my son will eat, I try to make it as often as I can.
Now my mom is a sucker for As Seen On TV products and other gimmicky products, so when she told me about this product that cooked bacon in the microwave, I shrugged it off.
Then when we were over there visiting one day a few weeks ago, she had nothing that Aidan would eat other than bacon. In just 3 minutes she had cooked a few pieces of bacon for Aidan…in the microwave. First thing you may be thinking is “Did it come out crispy?” Yes, yes it did! I couldn’t believe it! I had tried cooking bacon in the microwave before with no luck but the Makin Bacon cooker did it! And to make it even more unbelievable it was invented by an 8 year old girl!
So anyways I had to share this product with you guys because it seriously ROCKS! You can cook up to 16 pieces of bacon (depending on thickness) or as few as 1 piece of bacon. All the fat drains to the bottom so the bacon isn’t sitting in it and best of all…it is DISHWASHER SAFE!
My mom picked it up at Wal-Mart for us, but you can also buy it at Kmart, Target, or check it out online at MakinBacon.com.
I also found one on Amazonfor $13.00.

I actually just use paper towels to soak it all up. I’m lazy!

Bacon tastes great but is horrible for you. The nitrates alone-ugh.
I am not trying to be mean, but you feed it to him because it is one of the things he will eat. At what cost to his body, though?
Really, google this and remember that every bite of food you feed your child you make a good or bad decision. Food is fuel for health, not for what we want to eat. Time for healthy food for your little guy. Veggies, protein, etc. He will learn to like healthy food if that is what you feed him. You are setting a lifetime of eating habits right now.
I so wish more young mothers would reconsider how they feed their children. It is SO important.

I have one of those and they really do ROCK! We have bacon a lot more around my house because I don’t have to stand over a frying pan.
