Now that I have two children that people buy for, I don’t expect anyone to buy for my husband or myself. Well you know parents don’t listen, and my mom really surprised me with my Christmas gift last year. My parents bought my husband and I each a Season Pass for Six Flags Great America. I was so shocked. We hadn’t been there in years, nor had I mentioned it to her.
It turned out to be a wonderful gift that kept on giving. We went to Six Flags about five times, so the pass more than paid for itself and since the kids are free it worked perfectly. My husband and I would take turns going on rides with my younger sister (who also got a Season Pass) and we all had fun. The kids loved the kids areas, which here in Gurnee, IL there are three areas specially for kids, even young kids. We unfortunately didn’t make it to the water park area, which is included but hopefully this year as she got us the same gift this year!
Memberships or tickets are something I never would have thought of, but really if you know someone that loves amusement parks, zoos, museums, or other similar activities a membership is a great gift idea. I know I am looking forward to when Six Flags opens in 2010 and I love that it’s already paid for!
I wrote this as part of a Twitter Moms Contest called “What was the Most Surprising Gift You’ve Ever Received?” You can read more about the contest and details HERE. The giveaway is sponsored by Target, which also happens to be my favorite store!
