(If you missed my Day 1 post, check it out here)
After a nice nights sleep in a giant King size bed all to myself, I was ready to start the day. The bed was so comfortable that I didn’t want to get out! I will say the only thing I did miss was curtains as the sun shined in through the wooden mini-blinds around 6 A.M. and woke me up. I showered in an elegant shower that I almost didn’t want to dirty it up! I will say I have never seen a cleaner hotel room either, nothing was out of place or dirty – the glass shower doors even were spotless!
I headed down to one of the restaurants for breakfast and was again greeted with wonderful service. I am picky and don’t eat eggs so the waitress let me change up my order to swap out the eggs for sausage, which other restaurants I have been told no or had eyes rolled at me. Breakfast was delicious and the atmosphere was again soothing.
Next was another treatment at the Avani Spa, this time it was a hair treatment with the Moroccan Oil in the salon. I again changed into a spa robe and headed to the salon. The stylist was very educated about Moroccan Oil and made sure to use the Light version since I have blonde highlights (the original version can turn blonde highlights golden). She massaged my scalp and shoulders, let the treatment soak in and washed it out with a conditioning treatment.
My hair definitely felt smoother and healthier after the treatment. I then changed and headed to the pool to have a poolside lunch in the spa. The menu was simple but had a good selection. I love that the spa offered lunch because you really could spend a whole day just enjoying the spa even if you are not getting any treatments (although there is a fee if you are not getting any treatments.)
Overall, my visit at The Abbey Resort was very positive. It really is somewhere you can go alone, with friends, or family. There is so much to take advantage of whether you are there for an overnight trip, weekend, or longer. Oh and did I mention it is right on Lake Geneva with all sorts of water activities and boats to rent (including boat slips if you already have a boat.) The view was gorgeous and I would love to sit and soak in some of the view this summer! You could also walk to downtown Lake Geneva which is a historic town full of shops and restaurants. Even without the spa services, the trip was great too so don’t think you have to visit the spa to experience a great time. The 24 hours I was there was relaxing and definitely something I needed. It was only an hour and half trip from my house and I was only there for a short time, but it was like a different world full of hospitality and pampering.

I really think we need to head back with the families for that boat tour.
