When I started my blog, I admit I was clueless. I had no guidance and just figured I’d wing it. I started out with Google Blogger, since its free and I was already familiar with other Google products. I did pretty good setting everything up, but I also was familiar with HTML and not totally tech-clueless. I definitely made mistakes and there were things I wished I did differently but again I had no one to talk to or ask about blogging.
Now in just six months you can actually earn an accredited Professional Blogging Career Diploma from Ashworth College. You will learn how to create, publish, manage and promote any type of blog, vlog, podcast or webcast. The classes are taught using the latest blogging techniques from experience instructors.
For people who are far from tech-savvy but still want to jump in to blogging, this sounds like a great way to start. I would have loved to learn about the different blogging platforms, as I thought there was only Google Blogger. I always have never been good at promoting my blog so I’d be curious what would be taught for that. Making money is also something that has been on the back-burner of my blog as I am still focusing on building my blog, even after over two years of blogging. I will say I don’t think I will ever become rich blogging, mainly because I don’t try as hard as I could, but it definitely helps with the bills. I am able to stay at home with my boys, which I’d do anyway, but now I can contribute to the family income. The money I make blogging pays our grocery bill each month and sometimes a little bit more. I do not pay a lot to maintain my blog, so there is income and I know the possibilities are endless with effort!
