When I was younger I admit I kept secrets from my friends. Sometimes it was my secret and other times it was a secret someone else told me in privacy. Even my best friend (whom I am still friends with after 16 years) and I kept secrets from each other because we each did have our own lives and other friends. While I do think it is important to be honest, sometimes family secrets need to stay within the family or if it may hurt someone else’s feelings then they probably don’t need to know. Sometimes a secret is not that big of a deal either to others not involved so why involve them!
In the television show “Pretty Little Liars” there are four friends who share one big secret but each of them also has their own secrets. For example, one of the girl’s mom stole money from her work and got away with it before she could replace the money. This secret is not shared with the rest of the group but definitely a burden to the one the girl whom the secret causes other problems within her life and friend’s lives. The secrets these girls share and don’t share make the show great and interesting. I found myself talking to the television saying that one girl should tell the group her secret or at least one of the other girls, because secrets can definitely be hard to handle alone.
