Patrick Jane is quite an unusual character. He is an Independent consultant with the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), who solves crimes through his skills of observation. He doesn’t follow protocol or even act like a serious investigator, and he is known for his semi-celebrity past as a (fake) physic medium. He has solved cases at strange locations including a racetrack, driving range, gold country and a mixed martial arts match. I am always amazed at how he figures things out and cracks the toughest of cases. I think I have definitely learned to be more intuitive myself since watching the show!
I couldn’t imagine solving cases at any of those places, especially the mixed martial arts match. There everyone would be riled up from fighting or cheering on the fighters that I’d be afraid of the energy there. It would be hard to narrow down a suspect since people are there to fight and therefore may be perceived as a bad guy.
I unfortunately have missed a few episodes of this past season so I will definitely be checking out “The Mentalist Season 3.” I actually prefer watching shows on DVD, then I don’t have to worry about commercials or missing episodes!

There are 3 seasons of this already? I’m behind! I loved the first season.
