Yeah I finally was able to get my hands on Wii Fit!!! It has been sold out everywhere and I finally had time to run out and get it. I just got it last night so I don’t have too much to report yet, but I love it! I am an old school video gamer and I can still remember the day I got my first Nintendo (I am not that old so my first real system was right when NES came out.) I played and conqured every game I could and Mario was my trustworthy and reliable boyfriend! He was always there when I needed him, he was strong, and he did and went what I wanted him to do! Anyways, I mainly stuck to NES, Super NES, and I never really got into GameCube or N64. I did get Playstation 1 & 2 because I had to have the game The Sims. (Of course I also had Gameboy) My younger brothers had every system there was and they played until they couldn’t play anymore, but I always fell back to my old systems.
Then came the Wii and I knew I had to have it. It came out in I think November 2006 and my husband was finally able to get me one in January of 2007. He went in a snowstorm and waited in line at Target at 3 am to get a ticket to buy the Wii. We played the Wii for a few weeks then my 1st son was born. We joke saying my bowling on the Wii put me into labor because after a major night of bowling I had my son the next day. Anyways I love my Wii, even though now that I have two little ones and I don’t get to play much, I still go back to it in spurts. Now Wii Fit may just be a faze for me but I will always go back to it because thats what I do. So far I have played about 45 minutes of play into Wii Fit and it is really cool!
First you get weighed and of course it told me I was overweight and made my Mii character fat! (Yes my Mii got a round tummy and big hips!) Then you do a quick Body Test and it tests your balance and gives you your BMI. Throughout the game you get tips on how to improve your balance and other fitness tips. It is neat to see how I lean towards the left too much and how I had hold my posture and weight more proportionally. There are different categories with games or challenges to enjoy, such as Aerobics, Balance games, and Yoga. After completing tasks and ranking better you unlock new games and levels. It is recommended that you do a little bit everyday to ensure you are training and using your muscles. You also can set goals of how much weight you want to loose in a certain period. Did you know that you flucuate 2 lbs. a day!? I didn’t know that it was that much a day!
So it was only my 2nd day of Wii Fit so I don’t have much to report yet, but after a week I will post my progress and let you know if I was able to keep up with it. Leave me a comment if you use Wii Fit and let me know how it worked for you or if you have any tips for me! Or if you want to tell me about another Wii game that you love?!
