Just a few weeks ago on I drove four hours in a crazy snowstorm (yes it should have only taken me 45 minutes) to the Sofitel Water Tower hotel downtown to attend the Kenmore Blogger Summit 2012. That night I met with about 40 other bloggers for a nice dinner and presentation from Google+ reps and Kenmore presentation.
Saturday though was a full day for us. The morning started with a shuttle to the Kenmore Live Studio. I had heard of the Studio before but being there was truly amazing. What a great idea first of all from Kenmore to create a fun, open space to not only features bands, cooking demonstrations, even fashion designers, but to showcase amazing Kenmore products. The space wasn’t jam-packed with appliances but rather a few displayed as they would be used throughout the space.
So Saturday morning started out with a cooking demonstration by Suzy Singh of Master Chef. Suzy incorporated the Kenmore Slow Cooker to whip up an amazing spicy dish just to show us how easy it is to use.
Then we were broken down into teams for a Slow Cooker Challenge. We were given vegetables, spices and 20 minutes to come up with a dish. We all had a mystery vegetable too, ours turned out to be bitter melon. The Slow Cooker Challenge for me was great because I really need to use my slow cooker more and it showed me how easy it is to throw some stuff in it to make an amazing dish! I also loved testing out the Kenmore Slow Cooker because I am in need of a good slow cooker and this one was digital with different heat settings (a lot better than turning a temperature dial and remembering to set a timer!) Unfortunately we didn’t win the Challenge, but it was a great learning and fun experience.
How are you with a slow cooker? Or do you call it a crock pot? Any other tips?
