I didn’t get a digital camera until after college so I basically have tons of boxes of photos and a few photo albums of photos. I have lately really been considering checking out one of those photo scanning services. If you have never heard of that before, basically it is a company that you send or bring your photos to and then they transfer them to cd, dvd, or upload them to an online account.
Now yes I have a scanner and I can one by one scan each photo into my computer, but it would take so much time that I would probably just get frustrated and throw everything away! Getting my photos to cd done for me just sounds so much simpler and worth the cost, of course as long as it is reasonable. I also think if I was getting my photos scanned it would force me to weed out the bad, blurry, and photos I don’t want any more (ex-boyfriends…) thrown out. Yeah I can just see my kids going through the box one day and being like, “Mommy who is this man you are kissing?” That would be a conversation I am definitely not ready for!
The other reason that photo scanning in general is a great idea is because it provides a safe backup of your treasured photos. Right now I am actually in the process of taking the photos from my computer and putting them on flash drives and then putting them in my safe deposit box. I do have some saved online but I figure you can never been too safe with something irreplaceable. So if I do get my photos scanned I would just pop the cd in my safe deposit box as well as saving them on my computer.
Have you tried a photo scanning service before?
