When I was little I admit, I was spoiled. I didn’t really have chores, but I did help (not as much as I should have) around the house. My brothers and I never got an allowance, but rather when we wanted something we would then start doing stuff around the house like crazy to earn extra money. My husband on the other hand said he had chores but his parents always backed out of giving him his allowance for one reason or another. I want to meet somewhere in the middle with my kids. I want to set a list and if they do it, they get paid, if they don’t they get nothing. I do want my kids to be kids, and I turned out okay, but I want to instill in them to try at tasks and help out.
Right now my boys are still young and learning so the basics here are cleaning up toys and putting cups in the sink. Well now there is an online chore chart that is free and teaches kids to work in a fun and productive way. My Job Chart encourages kids to tackle their chores on time, tracks their progress, and encourages them along the way! It is fully customizable and even lets you decide on rewards! It really is a great way to help with communicating chores and developing responsibilities. You can even select to get an email or text message when your kids finish their chores or they earn a reward!
Now like I said my boys are small, but I do have a 12 year old sister and the first thing she does when she gets home is goes right to the computer. I know she is not alone in that, so if your kids are going to go on the computer anywyas why not post their chore chart there! (Next maybe it will be available on the TV! LOL)
I signed up because I was curious and it is so cool! It takes minutes to sign up and add family members and then you start assigning tasks. Then it assigns points to each task (which you can change the value) and you assign how many points it costs to earn specified rewards or custom rewards. I still can’t believe this is free and easy!
