The Avengers Movie & MarketSide Pizza! #MarvelAvengersWMT #CBias #SocialFabric

So this past Tuesday night, what did I do? Well my 4 year old, Gavin, and I of course went to our local Walmart to buy the new Avengers movie! Why Walmart? Well not only are their prices good, but they feature exclusively the “Avengers Blu-Ray/DVD/Graphic Novel” combo. So yes it costs a little more (just under $30) than just the movie alone, but it comes with a cool comic book and really two DVDs (Blu-Ray and DVD!) Gavin is all about superheros, last year he was Spider-Man for Halloween and this year he is going to be Captain America.

While the movie the Avengers is a little above him, its a movie we can watch as a family. My boys love to see the characters while my husband and I enjoy the storyline.

The other reason we headed to Walmart to buy the movie is to take advantage of the Avengers Augmented Reality App. It is a free app for iPhones and Android that has different trigger points while shopping at Walmart. For example, the one display we found in Electronics if you scanned it you could take a picture with the characters or hear them say different phrases. The app also has “Take Quiz” “Free Game” and “Product Activation” (when you buy both the movie and a pizza!)

Here is a picture we took in front of one display. My son had no idea what he was doing and was so confused when I kept trying to get him to stand in a good spot for the picture. He loved though how we could tap the iPhone screen and hear the character talking.

 MarketSide Pizza is a take-and-go pizza that is in the refrigerated section by the deli, that I apparently have never seen before. There are different varieties, we of course got the Captain America one (even though Gavin is not a big pepperoni fan!) The pizza is fresh ingredients and ready to be popped in the oven (or frozen.) I have never had a take-and-go pizza before and I admit I was quite surprised how good it tasted! Even my kids enjoyed it! What is absolutely awesome though is this pizza was like $8 and it is huge – 16 inches compared to the usual 12 inches a frozen pizza is. We had a great family movie night of a MarketSide Pizza and the movie! So for basically $40 we had dinner and a movie for all of us. My boys were beyond thrilled to stay up and watch the movie with mom and dad!

Live by a Walmart? Select Walmart store will have a special Avengers Character Appearance on Saturday September 29th! Unfortunately mine doesn’t, so I’d recommend calling your store first.
