    Created by the maker of industry-leading brands Penzoil and Quaker State, there is now an informative website to help you with car maintenance.  The website www.MotorOilMatters.org will help you easily locate key information about how quality motor oils can help prolong your engine’s life and improve overall efficiency, as well as answer any other motor oil questions.  The site also features a fun, educational game called “M.O.M. Knows Best” where you can your motor mind to the test with an interactive quiz.

    More Interesting Facts:

    • According to a recent survey from the Automotive Service Association, more than 54 percent of customers who take their vehicles for service and repair are women
    • Using a high-quality motor oil in the right grade can help maximize fuel economy
    • Low-quality oils that do not meet industry standards or the vehicle manufacturer’s requirements could cost consumers in the long run by potentially damaging the vehicle’s engine or possibly voiding the manufacturer’s warranty

      Although they said that synthetic oils outperform conventional motor oil, “full synthetic oils should not be used in Mazda Rotary engines, which have unique and specific lubrication requirements”

      I learned that changing your oil will remove harmful contaminants and dirt that have been collected in the oil and one of the most important things you can do for your engine life.

      I found it interesting that switching between synthetic and conventional oil will not cause any harm to engines as long as both individual oils meet the engine manufacturer’s requirements as listed in the owner’s manual.

      The most interesting thing that I learned from the site is that regular oil changes are one of the most important things that can be done to help extend the life of an engine. I guess I better ask my husband when the last oil change on my car was.

      the interesting fact i learned is you don’t change your oil every 3,000 miles that you change your oil as often as your car manual says each car is different.

      Well…I swear I didnt copy this but went to the site and found that the W stands for WINTER on the container of oil. I actually have known how to change my oil for many years but didnt have a CLUE what it stands for. I figured it had to do with viscosity somehow but didnt know what it was!

      I thought it was good to see there are such a range of sponsors and it isn’t from one motor oil company! Also, it was interesting that it says it is fine to switch between natural and synthetic, I would have worried about that!
