Okay so yes Thanksgiving is the next big holiday, but I am really needing the whole Christmas mood right now. Something about having my house decorated and then snow (which in Chicago can be anytime now) just makes me smile. Yes I hate the cold and driving in the snow, but I do like looking at the window at it.
Normally I put up our decorations the weekend after Thanksgiving, while I am soaking in all my Black Friday deals, but this year I am considering doing it earlier. I think we are having Thanksgiving so I think it might be weird to have Christmas decorations up for dinner. We have a lot of decorations too for both inside and out, yes we are nearing the Grisswolds for the outside of our house 🙂
So I ask, when do you put up decorations and when is too early?

My crew likes to get Christmas decorating started mid November. We go big, train in our open beam rafters, 9ft tree, etc. We started doing Christmas decorations before thanksgiving last year and our family truly enjoys it. A few decorations up a day so it doesn’t all need to go up at the same time.

We usually put them up the weekend after Thanksgiving too. We have put them up the weekend before or week of Thanksgiving in the past… but I honestly got sick of all the decorations by Christmas (and those years I started taking everything down the day after Christmas lol). Now I might put out a few small things before Thanksgiving but wait for a majority until the weekend after.
This year we are traveling for Christmas though (our first time) so now I am debating just how much and what we should put it. I know I need to do something because the kids won’t have no decorations lol but I don’t want a ton of stuff to put away when we get home on top of everything else lol

My parents actually stopped decorating because they haven’t really been home.
