Ringling Bros® and Barnum & Bailey Presents Dragons
Allstate Arena: Nov. 1-11. 2012
United Center: Nov. 14-25, 2012
Last week my family and I attended the newest show by Ringling Bros. And Barnum & Bailey, “Dragons.” The show was our third circus as a family and each year they continue to amaze me!
First off, the doors open an hour before the circus for a Free All Access Pre-Show Party! All ticket holders are invited down to the arena floor to meet the circus performers, animals, and enjoy some pre-show entertainment! There was martial arts, circus acts, and lots of dancing! My boys who are not big dancers were out there jumping and twisting, as was my 15 month old daughter. Olivia walked all the way to the front like she owned the place and shook her little bootie! What was great though was my kids were able to get up close and personal with some of the acts as well as get some of their energy out before they sat for two hours of the show.
The first half of the show included animal tricks, girls hanging by their hair (ouch!), women in clear balls hanging from the ceiling, lion taming and more!
Then there was an intermission and the second half started. The second half was our favorite. It featured trapeze artists, elephants, clowns, and our favorite – the motorcyclist in the sphere.
To us the circus really doesn’t get old and each year they bring fresh new acts to the performance. While there are some favorites they keep bringing back, they do change up the acts. I highly recommend the show if you are looking for something fun for your family!

It’s been over 20 years since I’ve been to one, since I live in a rural area of Oregon, and I had wondered how Ringling Brothers was holding up. I’m glad to hear that Ringling Brothers is still an entertaining circus to go to and that the kids still have fun!

It sounds like Ringling Bros. is raising the bar, with the competition of Cirque du Soleil and others more eclectic circus-esque shows. It’s good to hear that they’re continuing to adapt!

I remember taking my youngest son to the Ringling Bros. circus when he was little. But it was nothing like this where you could go in ahead of time and actually meet and talk with the performers. That is nice I think that they do that , you can get to know more about them. And as you said winds the kids energy down abit so when the show starts their ready to sit and watch the show. My grandson is 4 and I havent taken him yet but I hope to soon.
