    I cannot even tell you how many times I have played Monopoly in my lifetime, but it has been a lot.  Monopoly is a game of traditions and it is a Classic game that I am sure future generations will love too.  One thing future generations though will miss out on is one of the classic Monopoly pieces.  Yes, Monopoly will be retiring one of eight game tokens.  One of those eight tokens is heading to jail and will be replaced by one of five new tokens:  the diamond ring, guitar, toy robot, cat, and helicopter.

    Potential New token choices:

    Up for retirement are:

    • the battleship
    • iron
    • racecar
    • Scottie dog
    • shoe
    • thimble
    • top hat
    • wheelbarrow

    For me, I honestly choose either the racecar or the wheelbarrow, depending on who I am playing with.  I have tried the other pieces but they just don’t feel right to me, not that I have ever won at Monopoly!  I think I would vote for the Scottie Dog to be removed and replaced with the diamond ring.  In my family, we all have our own pieces that we use each and every time and I can’t imagine the pieces changing!  A new Monopoly game piece sounds so strange to me, but I suppose it is time for a new one!

    Through February 6th, you can vote to save your favorite Monopoly piece and pick out the new one.  It was definitely a tough choice for us to only pick one to vote for!  Check out Monopoly on Facebook.

      I usually play with the dog in the classic game but I have a couple of the special edition games with different pieces. But if Scotty goes I would still play.

      I like the wheel barrow because it has all that storage space for all the cash and it is pretty easy to transport all that cash gotta weigh something.

      I love the thimble 🙂 I’m sad that the robot didn’t make it in as the new token tho’, ’cause that would have been my new favorite 🙂

      I love the Scottie dog, I picked the new cat piece for the new Monopoly on face book monopoly! Cannot stand the thimble, wish they would retire it.

      Mine is the Scottie Dog, but it’s doing fairly well so I’m voting for my second favorite — the Top Hat. Voting for the cat to take its place. 🙂

      I really love the thimble and the dog and the top hat. It’s hard to pick just one favorite! But I don’t like the iron very much. Maybe the robot or the cat can replace that one.

      My fav token is the thimble…well to be honest I love them all 🙂 I think if I had to pick one to retire it would be the dog & I’d like the ring to take it’s place.
