Are your kids Skylanders fans? My kids (4 and 6) are obsessed! Skylanders Giants is actually the first real video game they have tried and they love it. We tried other Wii games in the past but they just never really got into them. I love video games myself and while I don’t get to play them much anymore, I don’t see a problem with my kids playing them (in moderation of course.)
Skylanders is a game too that encourages teamwork, which I absolutely love. My boys fight all day long but during Skylanders they have to work together (they are tethered together in the game.) They also learn problem solving, focus and decision making.
So anyways yes we have Skylanders Giants, and we just got Skyaldners Spyro’s (backwards I know) and my boys are already asking about the next Skylanders game. I had to break it to them that there is not another Skylanders game out. Then I read a press release today that even made me excited!
Skylanders will be releasing the newest game in their series called Skylanders SWAP Force. So Spyro started the series, Giants brought us Giants, and SWAP Force will bring in…swapable game pieces! Kids (and adults) will be able to swap the tops and bottoms to create their own characters. The game lets Portal Masters reconfigure 16 SWAP Force characters into more than 250 unique combinations! Kids can mix and match characters’ powers and moves to conquer the gameplay. Yes you can also play Skylanders SWAP Force with their entire collection of characters from both Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure and Skylanders Giants!
Skylanders SWAP Force will be a whole new game for kids to play, of course trying to beat the evil Kaos. It will feature 16 new SWAP Force characters along with 32 core Skylanders characters (16 of them new and the other 16 new versions from the previous games) and eight new LightCore characters.
I’ll keep you posted on any more that I read about the new Skylanders SWAP Force game (I am thinking it will come out around the holidays) but in the meantime you can check out the Skylanders website.
