So a few weeks ago I shared a video post introducing GoodNites Bed Mats which I have been using on my son’s bed. Now GoodNites are not for potty training (although they are great for extra protection when kids are just starting off wearing underwear) but rather they are for kids who suffer Nocturnal Enuresis. Basically bedwetting. So once your child is past the age where their bladder control should be under control, they are suffering nocturnal enuresis. For me my son is 6 years old, way past potty training days but also still growing and adjusting to our busy days. He has nights where he wets the bed and by using GoodNites we both feel a little better. I feel better because the mattress is protected and sheets are easier to keep cleaned. My son feels good because he is embarassed when I have to strip his whole bed and wash everything.
I am sad to say that we have tested out GoodNites. Sad because that means my son had a bedwetting incident, two actually so far. The first time GoodNites did shift for him and the sheets go wet anyways. The second time though I got smarter and what I did was layered the GoodNites Bed Mats by going: Sheet, GoodNites Bed Mat, Sheet. This way when he had an accident I would have to wash the one sheet but at least the bed was made for him for the rest of the night since all my son had to do was remove the sheet and wet GoodNites Bed Mat. I feel so bad for him when he has to sleep without sheets and it was so nice that he could take care of this himself. For me they are worth keeping a package around just for that extra piece of mind and protection. As far as leakage goes they didn’t leak through or ruin our sheets, which I have read in other reviews that happened.
As you can see one bed mat does cover a good amount the bed. Exactly enough coverage. The only problem we had was my son moves a lot in his sleep and he pulled it up so it pulled off the sheet and pee got on the sheet. The next night though is when I put another sheet on top of this which head the GoodNites Bed Mat in place better and when he peed that night he just had to take off the top sheet and Bed Mat then he still had a clean dry bed to sleep in.
As a GoodNites Ambassador, I will be using them for a few more weeks now and sharing my final thoughts in another post. I’m not the only one though who like GoodNites so far either as GoodNites Bed Mats has been awarded the 2013 Product of the Year in the Children’s Products category by Product of the Year USA, an award celebrating innovation and consumer confidence.
