Disclosure: I was sent this product to review in exchange for my honest opinion.
While my daughter is almost 2 years old, I am amazed at how long her hair has grown (and out of nowhere!) I am dreading already brushing her hair when its longer as even with her short, fine hair now she gets little knots. I love brushing her hair and I can’t wait for the day when she just wants to sit and have me brush it for her, and thanks to Knot Genie I feel much better about the whole situation. What is Knot Genie you may be wondering? Well its a a small circular hand-held brush that has different lengths of teeth on the brush so it brushes gently. The bristles are soft but flexible so they bend just right. It features a cloud-shaped top so it fits nicely in the palm of your hand, although it did take a few tries for me to get used to. Oh and it is designed to work for both left and right handed users.
So far I have used the Knot Genie on both my 2 year old’s hair and my own hair and it is truly amazing! It glides through our hair and it didn’t leave any tears behind. Olivia no longer flinches when I grab the brush and before she knows it, I’m done! Now I have only tried this on straight and wavy hair (fine and thick) but according to the website it works wonders for curly hair. Its amazing how this simple brush could make a difference but the design just works. It is also designed to stop breakage and split ends because of how your not ripping at the hair!
The Knot Genie comes in two sizes, the smaller one being called the Teeny Knot Genie. The Teeny is perfect for little kids to use themselves or to keep in your purse/diaper bag. Both sizes come in a variety of colors too.
BUY IT: The Knot Genie (and Teeny Knot Genie) retails for $19.99 directly through the Knot Genie website.
WIN IT: (1) US winner will receive a Knot Genie

My 5 year old has very curly hair, which she does not enjoy brushing. We use a lot of Paul Mitchell Leave In Conditioner. After a few swims in the pool last week, I thought we were going to have to cut her hair off. Or she could go to first grade with dreadlocks, right?
Malea Cooper says
I use a small amount of raw unrefined shea butter and work through my daughter’s hair. It doesn’t smell great at first, but it dissipates quickly (It could be covered with a bit of essential oil). This helps the brush glide through easier.
