Rock ‘N Learn, Inc. is a company started by a school psychologist, Richard, who saw the need for multi-sensory learning programs through kids music. So Richard got his brother the musician involved and his wife, a former second-grade teacher and with the help of Richard’s wife managing sales and marketing, the company grew. Rock N’ Learn has even received numerous awards such as Dr. Toy, Parents’ Choice, iParenting, National Parenting Publications, Learning Magazine Teacher’s Choice, and more!
So now for over 23 years, Rock ‘N Learn has been producing cool educational music and videos to encourage learning! They offer award-winning programs for preschool, math, social studies, languages, and science as well as educational DVDs for older kids who need help with test-taking and state mandated standardized tests. So if you have tried workbooks, textbooks, tutors, these educational yet entertaining DVDs are ready to help!

MY THOUGHTS:
Letter Sounds
Ages 4–7. Approx. 55 minutes.
What makes Letter Sounds one of our most successful products ever? Attention-grabbing music, energetic characters, and action-packed games get kids excited about sounding out letters and learning to read.
After a quick review of the alphabet, young learners discover the most common sound that each letter makes. Now, the phonics games really begin! Kids race the clock to say letter sounds before hearing the answers. They’ll giggle along as they name the letters heard in silly sentences. Combining letters to make words comes next. And at last, after practicing with common sight words, it’s time to read stories composed of simple sentences! The attention-grabbing on-screen mouth shows students how to correctly form each sound.
This DVD covers so much that I cannot believe my son watches it from start to finish and wants it again! It repeats the alphabet song, sounds out all the letters, has words that are sounded out, a word game show and more! It is perfect for any child learning their letters! It is also bright, fun, and really engaging! Since my boys don’t talk yet, I love that they are getting constant repetition of the letters and words and I know it is only a manner of time before they are singing along! There is also a mouth on the top corner that shows your child how their mouth should move when saying a letter, which my son’s speech therapist would probably love!

Nursery Rhymes
For ages 2 – 5. Approx. 40 minutes.
On Nursery Rhymes DVD, vibrant animation and irresistible tunes are sure to engage even the most energetic little learners. The colorful action keeps kids entertained again and again as they learn traditional rhymes and important lessons about life.

Okay so I admit I am terrible at nursery rhymes, before my kids I was probably little when I heard most of them. I actually went out and bought a book about nursery rhymes but neither of my sons seemed intrested in hearing them, so I was skeptical about this DVD. Wow, was I wrong, they love it! I have heard about the Three Little Kittens so many times that it is permantly stuck in my head! I cannot believe how many nursery rhymes this DVD offers and it is adorable the little animations they do with each of them. My sons love to put this on and if they are not mesmerized by it, then they are playing with their toys but have to have this playing in the background. There is a total of 43 nursery rhymes and most are popular ones that kids love! This DVD is perfect for kids under 5, and I could even see infants liking the music in the background. I think nursery rhymes are important for kids because the usually have a good lesson in them and they are just a part of a childhood kids shouldn’t miss. Now with this DVD I am slowly re-learning all the nursery rhymes and singing them to my boys, soon I hope they start singing along with me!

My boys are still watching the last two Rock ‘N Learn DVDs that it was hard to let me change it out to these two new ones! I will admit I think the DVDs are cute and love that they are watching them and learning! I would have never thought they would like these as they are not popular characters or such, but the music has them hooked! The DVDs are bright, colorful, and very kid friendly!
