    iTunes App Review: LeapFrog Learning Path

    As a busy mom of three I am often looking for answers, for help and suggestions from others.  Whether it be for a question I had about one of my kids, a product or app suggestion, a worksheet printable or goals that I should check out for my kids that are age appropriate.  There are just so many websites out there that it can be totally overwhelming to even know where to start and who to trust.  One brand that I already trust as a parent is LeapFrog and they have come out with a free app for Apple devices that has pretty much everything a mom (and dad) could want.

    LeapFrog Learning Path

    Learning Path by LeapFrog is designed specifically for parents and helps you support your child’s learning with personalized ideas, fun activities and expert advice.

    You’ll get new ideas each week tailored to your child’s learning stage, from infancy through 3rd grade. Hundreds of activities, printables, articles, videos, tips and discussions will keep your child progressing and having fun.

    The Learning Path:
    – Provides personalized learning ideas, updated each week to help children reach their learning goals
    – Outlines step-by-step solutions to prepare children for key milestones, from saying their first words to getting ready for kindergarten
    – Connects parents who care about learning with other parents, teachers and our own team of experts
    – Delivers progress updates via email when children play with their LeapFrog-connected devices (optional)

    So like I said the app is free and once you download you are ready to go.  You can either create an account for LeapFrog from there or if you already have one you can login.  Once I was logged in, both of my boys profiles immediately popped up and recommendations, goals, and activities were shown.

    I love the app suggestions for different grade levels, it makes it easy to pick out age appropriate apps:

    Overall, I love the LeapFrog Learning Path.  Yes it has app/product suggestions in it but that is a small part and not the main focus.  The interface is easy to navigate and not overwhelmed with ads, like many other free apps.  Other brand apps I feel just push their products and don’t really benefit the child or parent, but this app does it all.  I honestly can’t even think of anything I would add right now.  From the discussions from other moms and the free printables, those are my two favorites.  LeapFrog has definitely done it again with a great product, even better that this one is free!

      I like that it outlines step-by-step solutions to prepare children for key milestones. I think that is very helpful. I think it would be great if it had a kid friendly page that shows their accomplishments.

      I’d like to see the app have disney or nick jr. characters that my daughter loves to watch. It may make learning more fun.

      I like the fact that it updates the parents about the child’s learning progress I also like the fact that not only does it say the word but allows the child to repeat it.

      I’d love for it to be an effective supplemental tool to all of his fun learning he does at school. I’d like enough choices in ‘how’ to learn in order to keep my child’s interest, which this seems to have.

      Love that it keeps track of your child’s progress. I can’t always sit by her when she does it, and I also want her to be independent, allowing me to see her progress. She is practicing amd learning to write so theis would be a great addition!

      I like that it is an educational app for my ipad instead of just a game. I’m always looking for things that teaches my son how to say words correctly and this sounds like a great app!

      I just want something to help my Children learn while having fun. So they don’t think they are learning, but having fun. My Son could really use this. He’s still a new reader.

      I like that you can add multiple children. I would like to be then able to print out worksheets to keep working on offline.

      I’d like to see fun quizzes for parents. I’d also like daily polls on what they think of new products for kids which are sold in the market and apps which they think would be good for their kids. 🙂

      I love the free printables. I was really impressed by the reader having handwriting “lessons” as I feel like schools seem to lack attention to this skill (in my child’s school, at least). I’d love to see educational subjects like counting money and telling time available.

      I’d love to find age appropriate things for my 4 year old on this app. I’d love for him to learn how to trace letters, he’s very impatient and gets irritated if he doesn’t do it perfect!

      This would be great for my daughter since she is trying to write her letters. I love the step by step solutions, it sounds perfect for helping parents with their child’s education and I love it is free.
