Disclosure: I am a Hotspot Shield Ambassador that is compensated and will be sharing my honest opinion.
As I type this I am sitting in the airport terminal waiting for my plane to board. All over there are signs for Wi-Fi, that yes costs money and people think they are safe to use since they paid for it. Just looking around it is crazy to see how many laptops are open and people typing like crazy, and I wonder how many people are using the airport Wi-Fi. Or maybe they are using the Wi-Fi from their phone or their own hotspot device, whatever they are using I would bet that at least half of them (if not more) are not using something to secure their data and devices.
Hackers are everywhere, and it is defintely a scary thought to think that someone can just hop onto your device virtually and you wouldn’t even know it until the damage is done. Maybe some of your personal information will be used to open a credit card later on or a virus will be placed on your device because some hacker thought it would be funny. Not protecting yourself online is like walking around with your wallet or personal information just hanging out of your purse or pocket. Don’t make it easy for someone to hack your device or even share it!
What can you do to stay safe on your computer and phone?
One way to keep your information safe is to use a VPN (virtual private network) such as HotSpot Shield on all your computers and smartphones. It is a great way to keep your browsing and shopping to yourself and secure. It also protects against malware, which includes a variety of hostile computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, spyware, dishonest adware, and other malicious programs. Basically using HotSpot Shield, your internet browsing will be safe and your protected from any unwanted purchases this holiday season and from identity theft troubles! This time of the year is stressful enough, using HotSpot Shield is a way to keep you safe from behind the scenes.
