Sometimes I want a lightweight vacuum to do a quick but powerful cleanup. Cordless would be great as well because honestly cordless offers the ultimate in quick cleaning. So what vacuum offers both of those features? The Dyson Dyson DC44 Animal is Dyson’s Digital Slim vacuum cleaner, a cordless vacuum that doesn’t lose suction.
Features:
- 20 minutes of constant high suction or 8 minutes on Boost mode
- Boost mode offers higher suction of power for more tough cleaning tasks
- Suitable for every floor surface: carpet, ceramic, vinyl and wood
- Developed for floor to ceiling cleaning
- Comes with a docking station to store and recharge the machine
- Detachable long-reach wand made from lightweight aluminum
- Uses Dyson’s Root Cyclone technology – so it doesn’t lose suction as you clean
- No bags or filters to buy
- Comes with three additional attachments
- Anti-static carbon fiber brushes which removes more fine dust stuck on surfaces
- Built-to-last with ABS polycarbonate (the same material used in riot shields and crash helmets!)
So what did I think of the Dyson DC44? I love it! I actually have an old Dyson Slim upright (like from 8 years ago) and the Dyson DC31 Handheld and this one vacuum combines what I love about both of them! It is a slim vacuum that I can use like an upright without sacrificing quality. I honestly went back and forth on where to store this vacuum in my house as there are so many areas that I can see using it daily – upstairs for the carpeting and bathrooms, kitchen for crumbs, family room to freshen up and basement for daily disasters down there. We pretty much live in our basement since we have all our board games, video games, movies, trampoline for kids, foosball and our favorite – a popcorn machine! Yes we have a popcorn machine down there but that means that there is also popcorn everywhere constantly! This vacuum has been amazing to clean around the machine and while some popcorn pieces were a little big to suck up, for the most part we didn’t have any problems.
Would I recommend the Dyson DC44? Absolutely. Like I mentioned earlier, it combines the features of an upright and a handheld vacuum in one, so it is a really versatile vacuum. I will say though it may be hard to handle for someone with wrist issues as it is a little heavy to push since everything is basically in the part you hold close to your wrist (whereas an upright is more bottom heavy and on wheels.) I like the different attachments as well, they are actually ones I will use instead of just ones thrown in the box. My favorite part though is probably the dock for the vacuum. Since this vacuum would be awkward to store on its own and then I’d have to try to charge it, the dock that is included has the charger fit right into it for easy charging and hanging.

Ignore where I have this mounted, its in a closet in my basement where we use it the most!
Just to see how slim it is, you can see it is mounted on a 2×4 piece of lumber:

Your review was perfect, it’ll be good for my husband, not me. lOL. To heavy for my hands.

I feel it is heavier on my hands but honestly my kids (5 and 7) love it! They use it all the time to clean up the basement, its easier for them somehow!
