We went to Thomas & Friends Live! on Stage!

If you read my post here, then you would have saw that thanks to MomSelect I received 4 tickets to go see Thomas & Friends Live! on Stage on Mother’s Day weekend.

The show is fully titled “Thomas & Friends Live! On Stage: A Circus Comes to Town” and runs 90 minutes. It is packed with audience singalongs, high-energy dancing and thrilling adventures.

The show had one intermission for 15 minutes in between which was a nice break to change diapers and get a snack. We got Aidan’s favorite, Dippin’ Dots! I was disappointed though because my cousin and her son, who is only a few months younger than Aidan, was supposed to come with but she ended up with pink eye! So my husband and my 11 month old Gavin came with, and he ended up falling asleep. Aidan is 28 months old and he can sit through a movie fine, but with the Thomas show, he was anxious. I don’t think he quite understood what was going on. He also wanted to run around and play on the stairs!

The show was great though and I am so glad we were able to go. My husband and I were actually laughing and smiling at some points, as the songs they sang were cute. It was a high energy and upbeat performance and it got the crowd involved. We did the train dance, clapped, and sang along. The show actually had giant trains on stage and they were so nice and realistic looking. They were not cheap fakes, but actual metal (I think) train props that moved. I wish we could have seen the trains up close before/after the show, but they probably would have gotten destroyed with all the kids playing on them.

The tickets we had were perfect though and regualry cost $30, but you could go as low as $17 and still enjoy the show. I think Aidan would have enjoyed it a little more if he was a little older, but he still enjoyed it. I wish I could have gotten a picture of his face when Thomas came out on stage – his eyes bugged out and he had a huge grin! I am happy we went and I am looking forward to the next show like this!

The Thomas show runs through August so if it has not come to your town yet, I highly recommend checking it out! It was an awesome family day for us and even if your child is not a train lover, it is still fun and exciting!
