Disclosure: I received compensation in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
I have never been a fan of oranges, mainly because I hate peeling them and they can be too sweet. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love orange juice and drink it daily but to actually peel an orange I give up. Then I tried a Heritage Reserve Navel Oranges and I was blown away. I hesitantly cut it up and sliced it into bite size pieces, I like to suck the orange off the skin. The orange was amazing! I ended up cutting up another one right away. I don’t know what it is about the Heritage Reserve Navel Oranges that makes them so different, but they have changed my opinions on oranges. They are so juicy and flavorful, but not overtly sour or messy. They are just the right amount of sweet. No crazy juices squirting all over and bitter taste.
A little about Heritage Reserve Navel Oranges:
- Made from California’s earliest groves in a small sub-section of California’s premier citrus-growing region – a narrow, 25 mile long area adjacent to the western foothills of Sequoia National Park.
- The orchards were planted between 1896 and 1960 to the original Washington variety and continue to prosper today.
- They are only available from February through April.
- They are grown and exclusively packed by LoBue Citrus, established in 1934, a family owned and operated business for three generations in California’s renowned Central Valley.
I will be so sad to see Heritage Reserve Navel Oranges when they leave in April, but I will definitely be stocking up now to get my fix! They really are unlike any other orange I have tasted. My whole family loved them, even my kids who are not big citrus fans. No one could resist them!
BUY IT: Look for Heritage Reserve Navel Oranges at your local Jewel Osco in Chicago as well as a few other states, check here for locations! Look for them in the big cardboard box display!
