Disclosure: I received the products below to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
Cooking is not just for professional chefs! Anna Boiardi, the granddaughter of Mario Boiardi and the great niece of Hector Boiardi – the two brothers who founded the iconic Chef Boyardee brand more than 70 years ago, grew up in the kitchen with her mother and grandmother. She realizes though that not everyone is raised in a food-focused family but her passion is to get others cooking. Anna just recently launcher her first cookware line for a modern cook but with “old world” performance in mind. The products are made of cast aluminum and built for longevity, durability and superior heat conductivity.
I got the chance to check out two of her products, but I’ll focus on the 12-piece Cast Aluminum Cookware Set for this review. The set right off the bat is gorgeous with its design and color. It basically is a set that includes everything you need to cook both big and small meals.
12-piece Cast Aluminum Cookware Set
12-piece set includes 1.75 qt. saucepan with lid, 2.25 qt. casserole dish with lid, 4.25 qt. Dutch oven with lid, 2.5 qt. buffet server with lid, 9.5″ fry pan with lid, serving spoon and slotted spatula
It’s also available in this adorable Teal color:
What do I love about the set?
- Shatter-resistant glass lids allow you to monitor cooking and not worry about dropping
- Nonstick interior – why isn’t all cookware nonstick?
- Heavy gauge construction – durable!
- Scratch resistant – no ugly scratches!
- High temperature safe
- Excellent food release with smooth and easy to clean surface
- Pouring spouts
- PTFE free and cadmium free
- Uniform heat distribution that cooks evenly with no hot spots – yes even on electric stovetops
- Can be used on electric stovetops
- 70% aluminum/15% glass/15% bakelite
- Hand wash
So basically the Anna Boiardi Cookware set has everything you need to start cooking, including a spatula and spoon. I love how clean the set looks just looking at it. I have only owned the stainless steel ones before and while they are great and durable, these just look cleaner. You get a total of five pots/pans plus lids for each, yeah for having lids that fit each one! All the lids even have tool rests, which I have never seen before. What else do I love about this cookware set? The silicone handles, which do not get hot, the non-stick surface that makes it easy to clean, and the notch to pour out your food and liquids! Amazing! There really is nothing I don’t like about this set. I have used it a handle of times so far and they clean up well and are definitely built to last!
This is definitely a line of cookware to check out. While I used to think all cookware was the same, its really not!
