Disclosure: This post is part of the HEALTHY ESSENTIALS® 2014 program by Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. and The Motherhood, who sent me a box of products and compensated me for my time. Opinions, experiences and photos shared here are all my own, and I hope you enjoy them.
Weather in Chicago can be pretty crazy. One day its 90, the next it drops to 70 and the next week we have crazy storms. Every day I wake up I’m like “Is it nice out today?” Since we only have a few months pretty much of swimming-weather, we try to swim as much as we can and just be outside in general. My kids are like fishes and they love any chance they can to be in the water. We don’t have a pool and since I am not about to chase my three kids (of various ages) around a water park by myself, we go to my moms a lot to swim, which is fine with my kids. I used to carry just swim suits and towels but now I have started carrying some necessities.
What do I keep in our swimming bag?
- Swimsuits
- Swim diapers
- Band-Aids (preferably waterproof ones but always Band-Aid brand since they stay on my active kids)
- Neosporin for ouchies
- Sunscreen
- Snacks
- Towels
- Sunhats
I found that by being prepared for boo-boos, we tend to have less of them and I like to use our own sunscreen since my mom doesn’t always have a strong enough one for kids. Being prepared is definitely something that has happened since I became a mom. Before I had kids I never had first aid essentials on hand, it was more of a running to the store or just toughing it out without anything. Well Johnson and Johnson makes it easy for consumers to stock up and build their own first aid kit by browsing their HEALTHY ESSENTIALS® website. You’re actually 3x times more likely to have an accident in your home rather than outdoors, which makes sense why its important to be prepared at home as well. Whether your active outside, running around your house or running from here to there, cuts and scrapes can happen anywhere.
