I have owned cars since I was 16 and I can’t even imagine how much I have spent over the years on repairs and maintenance. It is crazy how things add up and then something else needs to be repaired. The most we have paid out though is when we have had to repair our cars from an accident. We have fortunately always had good insurance but it hasn’t always been worthwhile to file a claim or it was an issue with someone else’s insurance that was the problem. I think about though what it would have cost us had we not had insurance and its crazy! We have also never been the driver at fault for an accident because then you also have medical bills for yourself and the other driver(s) to think about. While I hate paying for insurance that we don’t necessarily use, it is great peace of mind to have it and know we are financially okay with it. To me its not worth being uninsured but I know money can be tight out there and insurance is something that is kinda invisible. It’s one of those things that you buy “just in case.”

Everyone needs to at least get liability insurance for their car. In the state I live in, Georgia, it is mandatory to have liability insurance. Reading over this I could not believe the costs that could be incurred, nor the compensatory and punitive damages that might be involved!

WOW! Theses cost are amazing! I can’t imagine not having car insurance. It’s just one of those things that I believe you absolutely have to have. Just think if you didn’t have insurance and someone got injured! I don’t have an extra $61,600 laying around!
