This year marks the 100th birthday for the iconic Morton Salt Girl and honestly I will take any reason to celebrate! I say iconic because its hard not to recognize that girl in the yellow dress with the blue umbrella as the Morton Salt Girl. Something about her just reminds me of my childhood as Morton is a brand I have grown up with. From the kitchen counter to around the house, my mom used Morton Salt regularly.
I got the chance to host a party to celebrate the Morton Salt Girl’s 100th birthday and my friends and family had no clue about all the uses for salt! Sure most people sprinkle some salt on their meals but salt really can make a recipe pop and Morton even has other great products like their Epsom Salt!
So what are some ways to celebrate with Morton Salt?
- Host a Spa Party! Break out some candles, tubs of water and pour in some Morton Epsom Salt – Eucalyptus or Lavender
- Make your own wake me up body scrub! Use Epsom Salt (Scented or Plain) along with coffee grounds, honey extra virgin olive oil and essential oils (optional)!
- Host a Date Night! Cook a romantic meal and serve up some fresh hot bread with olive oil seasoned with Morton Sea Salt and herbs.
- Host a Family Game/Movie night! Have Morton salt on hand to season popcorn!
- Host a Bake and Take Party! Whip up some Sea Salt Caramel brownies (with Morton Salt of course) and have everyone else bring a dish (with salt as an ingredient) to share!
- Host a Craft Party! Use Morton salt to create sand art (use food coloring to color the salt) and pour into jars or make Salt Dough.
What’s a party without fancy M&Ms?
