I admit I didn’t think about supplements or vitamins until I got pregnant for the first time. Sure as a kid I gobbled down gummy vitamins whenever my mom passed them out but then for the rest of my childhood and through my 20’s I never really took vitamins. I figured I would get what I needed by eating, but now looking back at my diet I am not sure how I could have possibly thought I was getting all the vitamins and nutrients I needed. Then when I became pregnant I took those pre-natal vitamins daily.
Why would I do everything I could for my growing baby but then not for myself after I had them? I realized I needed to care about “me” too and vitamins were definitely going to be a big help for me.
