Wi-Fi in my house is something I don’t think my family could live without. From our Voice over IP Phone that requires Internet to our media streaming devices, laptops, tablets, and video game systems, it seems like everything uses our Wi-Fi. Heck even some of my kids toys use Wi-Fi for updates! We have a two story house plus a basement and Wi-Fi signals are definitely stretched throughout my house. We have some dead spots in my house as well which can be pretty frustrating when you walk into it.
The NETGEAR AC750 -802.11AC Dual Band Gigabit Wi-Fi Range Extender is something that not only gives you Wi-Fi where you need it but it also can eliminate dead zones, help with Wi-Fi for your cell phones so you use less data from your data plan and it can even power a wired device like a Blu-ray player, game console or smart TV without having to hook them directly to your router. That is the feature I found pretty neat and unique. For example, you can hook a blu-ray player that doesn’t have Wi-Fi built into it to give it updates and download apps for it without hooking it up to your router with an ethernet cord.
How did the signal work for us? Amazing! We plugged it into our kitchen outlet since that corner of the house has dead spots and no more dead spots! What it does basically is create a new network in your house that you connect to.
I will say at first we did have issues as our router was old and this extender gave us a message saying basically your wireless could be improved with a new router because our current router was not optimizing our speeds. We ended up replacing our old router with the NETGEAR Nighthawk Tri-Band Router.
The Extender definitely made a difference in our house. I could not believe the speed difference!

We have a pretty big house with an upstairs and a basement and we use our devices everywhere so a continuous signal throughout our house is a must! I like that this device is small enough that its not an eyesore and it plugs right into an outlet. I actually keep this plugged into an outlet in my kitchen to boost the signal.
The NETGEAR Extender uses the NETGEAR app to set up, monitor and manage devices. It is super simple to use and the device itself actually has lights on it to let you know its working and connected. I will say I have never used an extender before so I don’t have anything to compare this too but so far I am happy. It works with our older and newer devices without a problem. I do think having a new router did make a difference, so that might be something to consider. I figure though for all I pay for our devices, I want a good wireless signal for them to work and spending a little bit of money to ease my frustration is worth it.

If this is able to extend the range of WiFi, this might work for my unique situation that it lapses out far from the receptor. I am going to research this more, and try this out.

I have the same issues with our home having dead zones, etc. & when I got this D-Link Wi-Fi gear – the guy said that it can reach long ranges (we have a 2 story house). But it is iffy – working at times when IT wants to. I pinned this, because to me this would definitely be an investment!!
